    • The International Brotherhood of Teamsters is closely monitoring the global health crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Working with other unions, public health officials and other experts in our Safety and Health Department, the Teamsters Union is focused on providing our affiliate locals, 1.4 million members, and staff with the most up-to-date information and resources to help everyone in this difficult time.

Many Teamster members across multiple industries are seeing the effects of the widespread transmission of the disease caused by the virus, known as COVID-19. These workers are at increased risk if they frequently interact with potentially infected or infected individuals.

    • On Tuesday, November 12, 2019, Dean Foods filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. It’s important to note that many companies file Chapter 11 in an effort to reorganize their debt and capital structure to facilitate a sale to a strategic/industry buyer or to a financial buyer with the goal to continue operating its core lines of business – and one of those options appears to be the case here.

The Teamsters Dairy Conference will continue to update Local Unions and our nearly 5,000 Teamster members working at Dean Foods on key developments in the bankruptcy case. We will post relevant newsletters, articles and key dates in this space.

    • Workers’ pensions are being endangered by both Congress and those charged with overseeing them. The Teamsters and our members are standing united to say “No!” to cuts and “Yes!” to greater retirement security!

  • Organizing Update August 2016
    Updated On: Aug 09, 2016

Local 776 organizer Mark Cicak has been busy this year organizing across the Local's jurisdiction. Below are a listing of the Local's recent organizing victories. Check back later as Mark has quite a few groups that he is working with who wish to become members of the Teamsters.

    Newville Police Department

    - On February 25, 2016, the Teamsters demanded recognition from the Newville Borough on behalf of the Newville Police Department. The Borough chose to recognize the Teamsters as the sole collective bargaining agent for the police department. On May 24, 2016, the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board certified Local 776 as the representative of the Newville Police Department.

    West York Borough Highway Department

    - On April 20, 2016, the Teamsters demanded recognition from the West York Borough on behalf of the West York Borough Highway Department. The borough elected to recognize the Teamsters as the sole collective bargaining agent for the highway department. On May 4, 2016, the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board certified Teamsters Local 776 as the representative for the West York Borough Highway Department.

    Ryder Integrated Logistics

-On June 24, 2016, Teamsters Local 776 demanded recognition from Ryder Integrated Logistics on behalf of the Ryder drivers that deliver for Metals USA. Ryder Integrated Logistics denied the Unions request and choose to take their chances with an election. On July 20, 2016, the National Labor Relations Board held an election where all of the eligible employees voted and an overwhelming number of Ryder employees voted YES for Teamsters Local 776 to be their collective bargaining agent. On July 29, 2016, the National Labor Relations Board certified Local 776 as the representative for the Ryder Integrated Logistics employees.
